The Styles fake retirement going over so well makes me wonder what the statute of limitations on an angle is? 10 years seems to work but if they try this again in 2030 is that too soon? When is it an homage and when is it repetitive booking?

At least his man uses the term 'aught' rather than the '2000s' on television do. Why do they use the phrase '2000s' instead of 'aughts'? Because they are stupid.

Brian, you were spot on with your commentary on the Larry King interview Hogan did. I remember back then that was a big criticism of Hogan amongst the wrestling community since he was going on a lot of different corporate media appearances during that time period. He would rarely mention TNA in any of them like he was embarrassed to be part of the company -- even though they were paying him a ton.

I literally bumped into him at Universal once! I live in the area, and was there in the summer of 2008 on a group visit with the local chapter of the Autism Society (terrible organization with terrible people and terrible aims. Not suggest.), and when I walked into the exit gift shop for Men in Black, I stopped because I sensed someone behind me. I turn around and it's Mick Foley with his kid.

If nothing else, Foley's time in TNA gave me my favourite promo in wrestling when he interviewed Cactus Jack. I remember watching that and believing I was seeing two people interact through the body of one person. I still go back and watch it from time to time. And, knowing next to nothing about Cactus Jack, it instantly let me know, "Oh, this man is dangerous".

Watched Foley’s run in TNA as a kid, before that it was the edge feud in 06, I quite enjoyed him despite looking old but he was captivating enough. The ultimate sacrifice match is one of my favourite multi man matches, all the hardcore stuff was mad for his & that Flair match I couldn’t take my eyes off the tv. All the gm network stuff was very pointless. I never knew that tweet, had a good laugh

Watching this makes me think of that Bobby the Brain Heenan interview where he says "The genie is out of the bottle, the magic is gone." My point being the veil has been drawn back and we're really trying to remember and rekindle the magic of the ring. But it cant happen. Now, its just half behind the scenes, dumb drama. The wrestlers are soft and sensitive. Back stage politics is front row. Smart mark comments are the only comments you see now. Its really gone. The transparency of wrestling is a joke now. You probably just like it cause you think you should. Pulling apart the entire business from the seams isn't why we started watching. We started as kids and grew up. Now its a picture of a picture. Not real feeling, not dangerous, and certainly not genuine. Rarely entertaining to boot. The main drama is worrying about how much money an org can lose before they fold to the corperate main stay. It was better when we were ignorant to the business. Now the entire audience is too smart to even tolerate/appreciate any angle. I guess that's why more people listen to Cornette than actually watch wrestling now. Botchamania still rules though.
